She Did It

Jocelyn

Before moving into the St. Raymond’s home, Jocelyn and her baby girl were sleeping on a crowded hotel room floor. Since moving in, she continued working diligently in her career and has continued to grow in her faith and personal life. While working the program, Jocelyn was able to become debt free and save enough money for a place of her own.

“My heart is full, my spirit is well nourished, and my confidence to build our lives for the better is up on cloud nine. I am thankful now for the future I am now able to build for myself and my daughter.”

Ellynne lit up the St. Raymond’s home with her positive spirit and compassion for others. Through hard work, she overcame a terrible car accident and has become a very reliable team member at her workplace. Her great attitude leads the way as she continues to build a stable life for her and her family.

“Every day I was at St. Raymond’s was a miracle and a blessing, not just for me, but for all the other mothers here as well. My family’s future is brighter than anything we thought possible.”

Nessie

Nessie’s calm spirit and determination has brought her to a joyful life. In her time with St. Raymond’s she acquired a vehicle, a stable job as a preschool teacher, and moved into an apartment of her own.

“I had nothing when I moved here, and the time that I’ve been at St. Raymond’s, I have already accomplished three major life goals. I was given the motivation, a sense of purpose, and the unconditional support I needed to accomplish both personal and professional goals.”

Anita was studying here from a foreign country when an unplanned pregnancy seemed to derail her goal of a college degree. After a visit to the local pregnancy resource center, she was referred to St. Raymond’s. With her family far away, Anita made the brave decision to bring her son into the world while she continued her education. Living with us for several years, Anita recently completed nursing school and passed her exam to become a certified nurse. While persevering through this challenging part of her story, Anita remained a wonderful and loving mother to her son.

“My family back in our country told me that I look even happier and more peaceful. I don’t feel like I’m fighting on the front lines of a war zone anymore. I’ve gained so much hope and confidence form the lovely family here at St. Raymond’s.”
